Denise Macey is fully trained and qualified as a Sports, Ultra Sound and Holistic Massage Therapist. She qualified through the prestigious 'Essentials for Health' Academy in Central London.
From an early age, Denise has always been involved in Sport. Many of her younger years were spent playing for Brighton and Hove Albion Women's Football Club until she went to the University of Southampton New College and studied Sports Studies and continued to play Football, Hockey, Volleyball and Basketball.
After University, Denise remained interested in sport, her career did not continue in football, but she does continue to play a regular sport in the form of Badminton.
After the birth of her daughter, Denise wanted to spend more time with her family and was also very keen to see how she could get back to the fitness and wellbeing arena. The combined course which 'Essentials for Health' provided allowed Denise to become qualified to provide clients with Sports Massage in Kent.
Since qualifying as a Massage Therapist it has re-ignited Denise's passion to understand more about physiology and understanding how massage can help so many people. In January 2014, with the help of her husband who is a Graphic Designer, the 'Massage Angel' was born. In April 2016, Denise decided to train to use Ultra Sound Therapy which provides Denise with more ammunition to deal with very tight muscles.
In 2018 Denise also qualified to become an Emmett Practitioner and is currently continuing her Advance Emmett Practitioner Course which she will complete in 2020.
Denise is also planning to complete the McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release Therapy Course in October 2019
Denise also works away from her Treatment Room once a week and works with the Children at Bower Grove School in Maidstone. She uses calming Emmett Therapy techniques with the Children (who have Special Educational Needs) to help them recognise a feeling of calm. From receiving feedback from the Children and the Teachers, Emmett Therapy has proven to be very effective.
